Legislator Roundtable with the United Nations

Our latest legislator convening brought the Institute of AI legislator network together with the United Nations to focus on how legislators can become more involved with the UN tech envoy’s work on AI and society.

Yu Ping Chan joined us to discuss the value of the United Nations platform in bringing diverse voices to the table and it was great to learn more about the recommendations made by the UN high-level panel on digital cooperation.

Legislators’ contributions can make such a difference to global cooperation on emerging technologies, so we were delighted to bring together participating legislators representing 20 countries globally and share priorities for ensuring optimal and fair adoption of AI.

Keep an eye out for our formal submission to the United Nations where we will be drawing together parliamentarians’ insights and outlining why the involvement of global, cross-party legislators is so important to digital cooperation as well as effective regulation of AI.
